Maria Teresa Garcia

Maria Teresa Garcia, age 90. On Friday, July 19, 2024, Maria Teresa Garcia, peacefully passed from this life to the next, surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband of almost 70 years Daniel Garcia, their 7 children Maria (late husband Gelasio), Joel (Elida), Eusebio, Patricia (James), Cilvia (Daniel), Alicia and Eva (Robert), 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. 

Maria Teresa Garcia was born near the small town of Tequisquiapan, Queretaro in central Mexico. It is in this small town that she met her husband, and she embarked on a partnership that took her from Tequisquiapan, to Mexico City, back to Tequisquiapan and finally to Chicago in the late 1960’s. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother who always made sure you had enough food to eat when you stopped by, and filled our lives with love and joy. She will be greatly missed by her family and will be lovingly remembered.

Visitation Services will be held on Monday, July 22 from 3-8 p.m. at G. Martinez Funeral Home, 5725 S. Pulaski Rd. Funeral Services on Tuesday July 23 at 8:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. St. Clare of Montefalco Church, 5443 S. Washtenaw. Interment St Mary Cemetery
