Kathleen J. Owens

Kathleen Jane Weber Owens, age 76, daughter of Melvin and Helen Weber (deceased) and beloved companion to Ray Sowa, passed away May, 14, 2020. Loving sister of Carol (Tony) Kesicke, Aunt of Christopher (Shannon) Kesicke and Carlee (Jason) Niec. Great Aunt of Kennedy and Grant Kesicke and Gabriel and Penelope Niec, loving cousin and great friend to many. Kathy had so many experiences in her lifetime. In her early years she lived in Germany, Washington D.C., Tacoma, and Japan before she settled in Texas. Later moved back to the Chicagoland area where she had a fulfilling career as a legal secretary until her retirement. Growing up Kathy loved the accordion and could really bellow a fine tune. She was a Chicago Cubs and Washington Redskins Fan. Love of the Chicago neighborhood bars was her entertainment later on in her life where she easily made friends and enjoyed the comradely. Kathy had a great love of the lottery, sports tickets, slot machines and playing a good game. Back in the day she loved her “Game Boy”, a major fan of Words with Friends, Candy Crush and other computer games. Per Kathy’s wishes, cremation will take place, and all services will be private.
